Questions
Why is placeholder text always Lorem Ipsum?
The passage is a scrambled excerpt from Cicero's De finibus bonorum et malorum, written in 45 BC, that has been used as printing dummy text since the sixteenth century. Its distribution of letters roughly matches Latin and, by extension, English, so a layout filled with it looks realistic.
Will the Latin be grammatically correct?
No. Words are drawn at random from the standard Lorem Ipsum vocabulary, so the result is intentionally meaningless. That is the point — it should not distract a reviewer with readable content.
Should I ship placeholder text to production?
Never. It is easy to leave behind and it makes a page look unfinished. Search for it before you deploy.
